Parents who want to be active participants in their children's education are also welcomed members of these online communities. With connected teaching, teaching is no longer an isolated activity. Teachers are equipped with technology and are 'connected' 24/7. In addition, connected teaching offers teachers the opportunity to personalize instruction with various software applications that provide simulations in the core subject areas. These simulations help students make well informed choices. As far as professional development goes, connected teaching offers a more direct learnign experience.
